About KNDWPN
Our Organization
The Kenya National Deaf Women Peace Network (KNDWPN) is a grassroots organization dedicated to advancing the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of deaf women across Kenya. We work to address the unique challenges deaf women face while promoting peace, justice, and social cohesion within our communities.
History and Background
Founded with the recognition that deaf women often face compounded discrimination and marginalization, KNDWPN was established to be a unified voice and advocate for deaf women's rights. Our organization brings together deaf women from various regions of Kenya to collaborate on projects and initiatives that matter to them.
What We Do
- Advocacy: We advocate for the rights and inclusion of deaf women in national and community-level policies and programs.
- Education and Training: We provide capacity-building programs to empower deaf women with skills and knowledge.
- Community Engagement: We facilitate dialogue and networking among deaf women and between deaf women and other stakeholders.
- Partnerships: We work with local and international organizations to advance our shared goals.
- Peace Building: We promote peaceful coexistence and conflict resolution within our communities.
Our Impact
Through our initiatives, we have reached thousands of deaf women across Kenya, providing them with platforms to voice their concerns, develop their capacities, and contribute to social change. Our work spans education, health, economic empowerment, and peace-building.
