Democratization and Resilience Fund (DRF) Initiative

The Kenya National Deaf Women Peace Network is proud to be a recipient of support from the Democratization and Resilience Fund (DRF). This partnership has enabled us to implement transformative projects that directly benefit deaf women across Kenya.

Project Objectives

  • Strengthen the capacity of deaf women organizations to participate in democratic processes
  • Build resilience within deaf women communities through economic and social empowerment
  • Promote inclusive peace-building initiatives that center deaf women's voices
  • Enhance access to information and services for marginalized deaf women
  • Create platforms for deaf women to engage in governance and policy advocacy

Key Activities

Capacity Building Workshops

Training programs for deaf women leaders on advocacy, governance, and organizational management.

Community Mobilization

Grassroots engagement efforts to raise awareness and build participation among deaf women.

Economic Empowerment

Income-generating activities and livelihood training for economically vulnerable deaf women.

Policy Advocacy

Engagement with government and stakeholders to influence policies affecting deaf women.

Expected Outcomes

Through this DRF-supported project, we aim to create lasting change in the lives of thousands of deaf women. We expect to see increased participation of deaf women in democratic processes, strengthened community resilience, improved economic opportunities, and a stronger collective voice advocating for their rights.
